We are looking for a Data Scientist to join our growing team and build innovative credit risk models and digital products. This is a fantastic opportunity to get in on the ground floor of a start-up and help shape the culture and trajectory of our company.
What will you do?
- Design and build automated pipelines for large-scale data analysis, model development, and validation
- Apply machine learning, deep learning, and statistical techniques to create scalable and predictive models in credit risk and adjacent domains
- Experiment with emerging AI/ML techniques (e.g., transformers, embeddings, graph-based models) for financial and behavioural data
- Develop and implement model validation frameworks (e.g., performance monitoring, drift detection, bias and fairness checks)
- Help manage and enrich proprietary datasets (structured and unstructured) to power product development
- Provide technical consultation to clients on model feasibility, regulatory alignment, and custom-built solutions
- Collaborate in an agile, cross-functional team environment with engineers, consultants, and product managers
Who are you?
- University degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, or related quantitative field
- Proficient programming skills in Python (pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow)
- Comfortable working with SQL for data extraction and analysis (R experience is a plus)
- Hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost
- Exposure to Cloud and MLOps, such as AWS (S3, SageMaker, Lambda, EC2), GCP, or Azure; ML pipeline tools (Airflow, dbt, Spark); containerization (Docker); experiment tracking (MLflow, Weights and Biases)
- Experience in financial services and credit risk modelling
- Solid foundation in statistical analysis and quantitative methods, including hypothesis testing and regression
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate with clients and stakeholders of varying technical knowledge and interest in your product
- Highly motivated, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced start-up environment
- Results-focused, with a proven track record of delivering high quality work on time
